How to Create Your Plesk Panel SPF Record

Sender Policy Framework (“SPF”) records allow you to determine which computers can send email on behalf of your domain.

Adding a SPF record to your domain name's TXT entry, can help improve email delivery rates by reducing the chance that the emails you send will be seen as spam. It can also help prevent others from sending spam and using your domain name.

Adding an SPF record is quite easy, and more information about SPF records in general can be seen at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sender_Policy_Framework

These steps below will explain how you can create an SPF record on your server using Plesk.

1. Log into your Parallels Plesk Panel account.

2. Click on the Websites & Domains menu.

3. For Plesk version 11.0 user, click on the DNS settings link.



For Plesk version 11.5 user, click the arrow down button at the bottom page to expand the menus.



And then click on the DNS settings link.


4. For Plesk version 11.0 user, click on the Manage link next to your main domain name.



For Plesk version 11.5 user, you can skip this step 4.

5. Click on the Add Record button.



6. Fill in the form fields as below. :

Record type: Select the TXT record type.
Domain name: Enter your subdomain name or leave that field empty to apply it on your main domain name.
Enter record string: Select SPF record and then enter here your SPF record after v=spf



7. Click on the OK button to create the record.

8. Once added, you will see a confirmation message, click on the Update button to confirm the DNS modification.
